Mike I’ve been using one similar to the one at the top for as long as I can remember, once you get used to it you will never half hitch again.

Its one of those things, that takes a bit of time to find the knack.
Once you get it , you'll never look back and you'll wonder why it took a while to figure out  *smiley-tongue-out*

Not had a chance to use them yet, but just had a thought ..... how do revolving hackle pliers work, would the thread hanging down not get in the way?

Maybe I'm just short of a coffee or two!

I wouldn't be without my whip finisher, recently bought a larger one to make parachute hackles a little easier to tie.
