so, i have some flylines that i need to put back onto the spools i bought them on - any tips on how to get them on neatly ?

Hand winding them on and they look a total mess....and will store all 'crinkled'

Tricky one without a line winder or line spooler James, have you got a drill that you can use to spin the spool, leaving you to feather/feed the line on between your fingers?

The Rio Cranky is dead cheap and makes it very easy.

Followed you advice Will and bought the Rio cranky. It's cheap (unlike everything else Rio sells) AND does a pretty good job 😆
Oh and the Barrio line spools fit it perfectly....

Just ordered one. Got too many reels tied up with experimental wafting lines.

I've had them running up and down stairs and just stripped into a heap and then kept under tension between my knees while winding on, far from ideal, but coming from kitesurfing and using throw lines for tree work I'm pretty good at untangling things ;)
