Lochter Report - Shining June at Lochter
« on: 07/06/2022 at 13:35 »
Down Lochter way last week the sun eventually revealed itself in all its glory for the Jubilee long weekend, and it was very much appreciated. The bright sun didn’t seem to put the fish off feeding and some good sport could be had at most parts of the day.

There were plenty anglers who sussed out quickly what their food of choice was and bent rods were most evident around the Fishery.

The return book had plenty of anglers in the 20+ category and they included Peter Young who used a variety of ‘surface flies’, Dante Dupitas on very small black dry flies, Gary Findlay on buzzers and crunchers, Davy Wood on his favourite WSW lure, Steve Craig on a selection of dries, Michael and Andrew McPherson both on diawl bachs and crunchers and Sandy Brown on damsels and buzzers.

Stuart Milne kept faith with the black fritz and it got him 17 fish, Ronnie Ewen had 16 on his own tied damsels and diawl bachs, Graham Taylor used the Ali McCoist lure and shimmer worm for his 16 fish and Graham Duthie used diawl bachs and other small nymphs for his 15 fish.

Davy Johnstone used the mop fly and cats whiskers for his 13 fish, Sandy Scobie used a mixture of small nymphs for his 10 fish, William Lacey also had 10 on the Kate McLaren and George Ross Jnr had 9 fish on the mop, buzzers and klinkhammer.

So lots of suntanned anglers last week in a state of almost contentment. Long may it last.

Tight lines,

S.P 7/6/22.
