Just a note to say well done to Mike on his 9' 3wt rod - absolute pleasure to use.

The rods reputation is spreading.....I was down in Forfar yesterday to see Neil Anderson (Angus Angling) with the intention of buying a LOOP OPTI 'Creek' reel, which due to its size, weight and colour (it must be very close to the blue of the rod) seems like it would set the outfit off nicely.
Unfortunately he sold this reel to someone who had the same rod!?!        Damn and blast


I know you are out there somewhere.....hope MY reel looks good on your rod

If you've missed out on a Loop have a squint on eBay for a Lamson Velocity 1.5 (the 1.0 is a wee bit too small) in the pre-2007 gunmetal finish
I have one and whilst I don't have one of the new #3wts from Mike it does set the rod off beautifully Great reels 

Mind you.... what about one of Mikes Vosslers........

I've haven't been to Angus Angling, but I've been told by quite a few regulars that Neil's shop is well worth a visit. Another place that frequently gets a good word is the tackle shop on the roundabout as you go through Dundee

Re: "It must be very close to the blue of the rod" ........... I toyed with the idea of getting some of my reels manufactured in blue this year, but never got round to it. Do you think this would be a good idea?

Its the little black number that everyone ought to have in their wardrobe, Dahlings.
Mat black, goes with everything, can't go wrong, absolutely timeless, still look gorgeous in twenty years from now.

Had a look at my Loop Opti Dry Fly last night and it is pretty much exactly the same colour as the Barrio #3.  Looks very cool   

Mike if you're going to do the Vossler reel in blue put me down for one of them.
