While many may be gathered round their TV's watching the World Cup there were still plenty of anglers out and about enjoying the fresh air and fine fishing at Lochter Fishery, Oldmeldrum.
Alan Logan had a wonderful start to the week with sixteen on buzzers with his best fish weighing in at 5lbs plus. B. Reid did even better with nineteen on a mix of damsels and bloodworms.
Bloodworms also worked for Bill Mathers who netted eight. All at 3lbs plus while Peter Young used "all sorts" to catch and release eleven.
Blobs were the choice for Doug Mair who caught and released fifteen while Walter Senior stuck to his very own WSW and kept three whilst releasing eight.
Other successful scorers included David Pottinger down from Shetland who netted eight, George Pirie who landed twelves on nymphs and buzzers.
The start of the school holidays has seen many junior fishers out enjoying themselves. First time Junior Dominick Van Zelm from Lyne of Skene quickly learned to cast and fly. He was delighted to take home two nice rainbows bad for tea.
Prospects are good, weather is warm and the fish are active!
