There is also a piece from Allan Liddle in the magazine this month with some tips he got from Marc Fauvet about how to take the shine off flashy beads on flies :z16

And of course ...... a review of the Barrio Smallstream fly line

Best wishes

nice to hear Mike and congrats Peter !  :z16

while on the FF&FT subject, getting the paper version out of the UK is a pain and expensive, does anyone know if the app subscription is as good as the mag ?
same content, etc...  ?
i'd appreciate opinions from those who know both versions.

cheers,
marc

Good to see Clyde style flies getting more press , I have been using these flies for nearly 30years , on rivers lochs and small fisheries , I get my Clyde flies from John Davies from the village of Forth , the hooks have changed as Peter said in his article , John ties the flies without the bare arse , but the bodies are the same size or smaller than the traditional flies, will see if the Don troot like them , will sort you out with some on Sunday Allan

Thanks for the flees John, good things to work on there.
Sadly i'll not make the Clyde as i've a funeral to attend, anyone who fished Loch Leven over the years would undoubtedly have run  into my wifes uncle Jimmy Hatten the self proclaimed 'Boatman, Baker, Happiness Maker' who sadly passed away last week.
Jimmy was a real character and i was privilaged to spend many hours on The Loch with him, learning and laughing, sorting the fact from the well, not so true  :z4
Will be fondly remembered and sadly missed and a wee glass or two deservedly raised come Saturday.

Cheers Jimmy.

Allan
