Hi everyone I'm new to fly fishing I normally do bait but wanted to try something different. I was wondering how much a permit would cost for the river don and what flys to use there. I was also wondering if there were any better locations to fish near my location (insch) preferably a wild area not a fishery

Welcome Finnan, without wishing to seem rude..... look at a map, pick an area you're interested in and then ask 
Use the front page www.fishingthefly.co.uk and navigate to the River Don page for information on tickets/fishing from across the river.

Have a search through the forums, there is plenty of information for you there if you actually look

Hi Finan

Welcome to the forum, if you are based in Insch then you should look into getting a Season ticket for the Don at Alford. Its not too far from you and will give you a great start into wild trout fishing on the river.
I think Sloans in Inverurie sell the permits
