Another nice night on the river, bit cooler last night, but lots of fly life.
BWO's yellow mays, small dark olives, sedges, midge, micro caddis etc. It was still the plain grey SHE that was the flavour
We spotted a few good fish early on that would not entertain anything over the nose, but waiting until later on and having a good idea where they were, worked a charm, after 10 when they started to show again they didn't ignore much.
I still fail to understand why people spend so much time hunting silver or chasing rainbows when on the river you can strike gold and sometimes with rubies.
Not a monster but fantastic colours, who needs the rockies for cutthroats when the Don can produce fish with such beautiful colours, funny shaped spots too.
We also saw a pair of otters, a doe and two fawns and various raptors and one or two nice spotties
