The first Millbuies Boat competition was a close run in and it was small wets, dries and buzzers which was the deciding factor in the end.Lures were just not what fish wanted.Anglers opted to knock fish early in the hope that would secure placings as it was hard early on,but fish came on later and it was then that a few regrets set in as bigger fish were caught and released and would have seen places showing a little different, but that's the chance you take.Plenty of Blues were caught and bars of silver they were. The final placings were as picture shows from L to R 2nd Place Gary Gormley 5lb 10ozs 2 fish,Ian Bancroft presents 1st Prize to John Main 7lbs 1ozs,3rd Place Dave Simpson 5lb 8zs 2 fish. All expressed they had a really good day with plenty of fish in the end caught and interesting fishing wise.Well done to everyone and to Ian for making it a good day out for the lads.
Dries now the weather has settled down are producing well and some good catches for anglers are being recorded. Now is the time Millbuies comes into its best with August and September very good months for the top of the water.Remember its important to book by 6pm the previous day before fishing to book boats.
