Butterstone Loch

Hi Guys,
I don't know if this has been mentioned, but I just got a call today and checked the website, and confirm that The Butterstone Loch is closing down as a fishery. Please see link below

http://www.butterstonelochfishings.co.uk/

I believe that the state is or was for sale. I have read in some other forums that the price and  quality of fish, in recent seasons did not match at this fishery. Some people blamed, the over-investment of the fishery on a very nice lodge coffe centre. As, I am not an expert, I cannot really comment on the financial situation.

I just think that it is sad, that another fishery is closing down.

Shame, it's gone  :z10 but without wishing to seem needlessly mercenary at their expense I wonder if they'd sell me a boat......

I reckon its only a matter of time until someone buys it and opens it back up!

I read it was on the market for a year (apparently) but I think only as part of the estate, not the fishery on its own.
Sign of the times that its closed but perhaps it will revert to a healthy brownie only population before too long..... unless all those Pike get a might too hungry in which case.....

I had heard it had been taken over as an activity centre for kayaking etc?

Cheers,

Steven.

Oh dear, that is too much of a challenge for mankind!

This year I have only been fishing in the style of the rubber clad, tweed coated, deerstalker hat wearing, long stick swishing, copper tube throwing upper class wally, so perhaps I am on the right track  ???

I have yet to see an adiposed finned silver tourist, but I have been catching their American cousins in some pretty horrendous conditions!.
