Just joined the forum, now been posted to sunny brecon in wales.

My question is - whats the best way to strip peacock feather from the quills.

Moths work well 

As moths are a wee bit annoying, a rubber works well to strip the quills of 'feather fluff'.

I use one of those white, almost plastic like Steadler rubbers. Seems to do the business.

I use a rubber now or my nail but found the below link perfect! Saves u the hassle and available in some great colours!

couldn't agree more. these are just perfect, they strip the fluff without gripping/pulling tight enough to break the quill.
it takes just a few seconds per quill.
keep in mind that anything bleached almost always reduces it's strength because it eats away material and dries out whatever it touches.
