Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

The Aul Troot

The temperature this week has been low but we have managed to keep the fishery open despite Mr Frost's attempts at icing over the water. This weekend the water has been completely clear and several anglers have enjoyed good sport although the fish seem "down" and reluctant to take. Weather permitting a further stocking will take place this week and hopefully, this will stir up the resident stock which together with slightly higher temperatures will lead to a good weeks fishing.

This week has seen the fish mostly taken on black lures with a touch of green or red although several anglers have been successful with Nymphs and Buzzers.

Delgatie Castle is a Troutmaster water and the fish off for 2011 will be held shortly with all qualifying anglers being notified. The fishery is open 7 days per week from 8:00am til 4:30pm and the closing times will be adjusted as daylight permits.

Rods, boats and all tackle is available for hire and visitors and novices are welcome. Booking is not necessary.
