Had a hankering to get back into the groove for a while but struggling.

........this has taken me ages, a lot of effort for 2 and a half minutes of not very much

Have used these a lot in a few variations and sizes for the Ephermeras.

Nice production Iain, I'm impressed by that.  Pants fly as usual though, I reckon it's your choice of dubbing.  Oh, and mails to the address at the end bounce back  :z4

Thanks guys,

The fly was In the wrong place at the right time. I wanted to create something with the video editing program and these photo's were taken a recent jamming session at the vice so it seemed an easy option.

My preferred dressing is with the more traditional emerger hook shape although I have taken plenty of fish with the klink extreme hook in this pattern and CDC & Elk so it pays to jam.
That is also the first time I've used squirrel dubbing for the thorax/ mid, front legs/ case etc. as I much prefer to use Orvis dry fly dubbing then apply the dubbed CDC fibres over that.

Glad the music was influential, although the fly was pants.

Nowt wrong with the fly mate, have you fished it?  I'm interested in how well it floats / stays up.

Not used grey squirrel dubbing, do get a lot of use from some squirrel shit in the Orvis natural fur selection though.  Either pine or fox squirrel, can't remember which and the box is on the far side of the room right now.
Not keen on CDC except in very specific applications where I want an ultra soft landing on the water, it irritates me having to change fly after every fish.  Looking forward to trying that CDC oil next season.

Cheers

Floats upright and like a cork.

Prefer it in CDC, the oil has me shuffling around the bank like Gollum stroking the bottle and calling it me precious.

I take it that means the oil works?
