I know I've already entered a fly this month, but I got a little carried away and decided to stick another one in.
Holographic Silver Wilkinson.
Materials.
Hook: Salar double size 7
Tag: Small oval silver tinsel.
Tail: G Pheasant red breast feather, wound.
Body: Holo silver tinsel.
Rib: Same as tag.
Middle
Hackle: Dyed magenta cock.
Wing: Two jungle cock eyes.
Front
Hackle: Pale blue cock.
Thread: Red.
step 1: Place hook in vic, wind on about 6-7 turns of thread a suitable length of rib to do the tag and both parts of body.
step 2: Wind thread in touching turns to a point just before the hook splits.
step 3: Wind approx 4-5 turns with the oval tinsel to form a tag and secure but remove as this will be used for the rib.
step 4: Catch in a G, pheasant red breast feather by the tip, secure and remove waste.
step 5: Wind on 3-4 turns stroking back the fibres with each turn.
step 6: Catch in a length of holo silver tinsel.
step 7: Wind the holo tinsel approx half ways up the body, secure with a couple of turns of thread then wind on rib to the same point and secure. Again dont remove, it will do the next part of the body.
step 8: Catch in the magenta hackle by the tip, secure and remove waste.
step 9: Wind on hackle stroking back fibres as you go. Secure hackle and remove the waste.
step 10:Wind the holo tinsel second half of the body stopping 3mm from the eye, secure and wind on rib. Tie down and remove waste.
step 11: Catch in two jungle cock eyes and secure, remove waste.
step 12: Catch in blue hackle by the tip and secure, remove the waste.
step13: Wind on 3-4 turns stroking back the fibres as you go, secure hackle and trim waste.
step 14: Build a neat head and whip finish, apply a few coats of varnish. DONE
