Sorry Mike can't make this one as it clashes with the Spring Fling Loch Park gathering and was hoping a few forum regulars could make it along to the weekend, or even the Park get together (planned for the Sunday).

No probs, perhaps a few can make the next one.

Overcast is good, but it is looking a bit damp outside this morning, I think it is easing off though :wink...... I have always thought that Mother Nature should sort herself out so that rain falls during the hours of darkness :z4

Hi folks

We certainly had a pretty wet morning for it at Haddo today and that held the surface activity back a bit I'm sure, but everybody caught fish in good numbers and it was great to meet Tony "bracken" and to see Gerry Stockwood enjoying his maiden voyage! We were netting a good variety of fish again today, plenty of Broons up to about 3 lb, some Blues and some nice Rainbows up to about 6 lb.

Kev Danby tempted 17 up to 6 lb, Tony Parker 15 up to 4 lb and Peter Scott had 11 fish up to 3 lb.

Thanks for another great day out - the weather was a bit damp to say the least but the "Broons" did not seem to mind. As we discussed yesterday, Mike, what a thrill to catch a 2lb Brownie - it was a pity that it was too wet to take my camera out because it was beautifully marked! Can't wait until the next one.
All the best
Peter
p.s. what happened to my customary photo?

maybe it was tipping it down for most of the day but it looks like you all had fish and fun.

I miss my tube.
Peter, yeah where's your picture?  :z8 old Danbers always gets two pictures in (favouritism as he fishes spiders I think  :wink).

Pity you didn't get a photo of your Brownie Peter, but 10 seconds in that rain and your solid state would be in a right state.

:z4  :z4  :z4 ...... Top tip if you want your photo taken Peter .... don't fish too far away from the hut, especially if it is raining :z17

That's probably why I don't get many of Mr Murdoch, he steams off down to the far end of the loch :wink

I did get a couple of you, one behind Gerry landing one of his first trout from the tube too. The camera didn't like the lack of light much on Sunday though, at least that's my excuse for the poor quality :z7

Cheers
Mike

Not sure yet Darren, probably June or July sometime ....... there again I might do a "last minute" one sometime sooner, these are often the best.

Iain,
I think Mike took one of Kev without his "trademark" hat because it was so unusual - mind you I do not know when it was dry enough to remove the hat!

Mike,
If you looked like "Pancho Gonzales" in that poncho, you would have gone to the far end of the loch as well - I blame you for giving him the "Good, the Bad and the Ugly" ringtone the last time we were there :z4

Iain its not the spiders its my rugged good looks  :z4, not that you can tell but it is a new improved kevlard 24lbs lighter than last year. A lot less ballast and no quicker in the tube I thought it might make a difference.

Alas the old hat is no more it blew off my head so I stuffed it at the back of the tube and it disappeared when I got out.

Any hat donations will be welcome.

Thanks for a good day out with some fine fish caught. It was good to meet a new forum member Tony (Bracken).

I've heard of a rabbit disapearing in a hat but never a hat disappearing in a tube  :z4 :z4 :z4 :z4

Hi Guys,

Have finally made it back home safely too the South of England and just read the reports above.

I had a super days fishing despite the weather, and would like to thank all of you for making it such a friendly and pleasant day out. I was amazed at the quality and 'free taking' habit of the fish on a catch and release water. All the browns I had were superb in colouration, condition and fin quality. The fish also fought hard and well, with several escaping us all on the way to the net. You really do have a superb little fishery and great bunch of anglers there Mike.

I must offer special thanks to Kev for collecting me and delivering me back safely and to everyone else for making me welcome.

Tony
