Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

The Aul Troot

A great week of settled weather with just enough of a breeze to put an enticing ripple on the water. Temperatures are rising slowly but overnight cold and frosts are holding water temperature down resulting in the fish feeding deeper and lures being the main catchers for the week.

The top catches for the week fell to the following anglers;

A Murray           Gardenstown        33 fish    Cat's whiskers
S Anderson        Peterhead            21 fish    Black WSW
N Thomson        Turriff                  11 fish    Fritz and Buzzers
P Gray               Turriff                  10 fish    Various lures and Buzzers
E Quirie             Turriff                  10 fish    Cat's whiskers and Orange Fritz
M Bruce             Buckie                  10 fish    Various lures
A Gibson            Gardenstown          9 fish    WSW
M Ewen jnr        Turriff                    9 fish    Lures
B Milne              Whitehills               9 fish    Green Fritz
I Watt               Turriff                    9 fish     Olive bloodworm
