About time for a new thread as winter is now upon us (well some of us :z7)

Here is the product of the last few days for me, ready for a dip out in Hervey Bay, QLD.

Rattle rousers (they rattle :wink)

Hopefully they might get me into a Golden trevally, i'll let you know

Attempted a couple of Heptagenid Nymphs tonight. Melting the legs was a bit tricky need some more practice.

Just need to get the colours sorted.

Bodies are white glowbright over a white thread body. Stuart uses PTFE tape under the glowbright - couldn't find any when I was tying sop used thread. the coloured ones are glowbight tied over the white. Then 4 - 6 coats hard as nails.

Cheers Peter,

Just the norm then  :z16
PTFE tape is good but fish often tear it to shreads after a while :z6

Thanks

The tape is an underbody Baz, you put a layer on the thread then cover with Glowbright floss. If not - as with mine - the glowbright isn't as bright. The okay dokays that Stuart tied recently are eyeburning white.

I have some that are only ptfe on the bodies with a fine silver rib!
They are very bright but like i say dont last long after a few fish !
Will try your ideas when i get home, sounds intresting enough!

Just as or if not brighter than glow brite and a bit thinner so not so bulky for heads ect, i rate it highly  :wink

I absolutely love that , fantastic looking fly,
tie them in a range of sizes and colours to match the hatch
and what a selection that would be. :z16

Going to enjoy tying a few of those, even if it is just for fun.

Cheers

I sometimes use a white tyre paint marker and paint my hooks white, a day or so before I start tying with the white glow brite

With a view to the inspiration from iain :z18.
A longing for home :z6
And a fine dram of Balvenie Doublewood :z3

I thought i'd just prove i have not forgotten how to tie REAL Flies :z12

Here is a March Brown emerger, using some of my traditional Dryfly stuff mixed with some of the saltwater stuff, and using some of my favourite techniques :z16

I reckon the Don Troot will love it about 4 months time
