Hi all
Good lady and myself fished yesterday,  my fish 2lb 6 oz  hers 3lb 7 oz 
Thing is when we got home and she was gutting the fish we noticed that the stomach of her one contained small twigs and 6 of the propellor things that fall from beech trees 
Is this normal  or any body heard of this before, thing is HOWmuch should i deduct of her weight

I do not think its that unusual , I have heard of this happening several time previously.

so we spend a fortune on flies when all we really need is a beech tree propellor

I'm not sure what the expanation is , could be that there are insects on the leaves / twigs that the Trout are after ?

Could well be, depending on the loch and food availability

I have noticed that anglers often mistake caddis for sticks, but trout will mouth anything that might possibly be food and of course leaves etc can be covered with beasties like greenfly.
