DELGATIE ANNUAL REPORT
It’s been a good year at the Turriff fishery with over 13,500 fish being landed, the largest being a rainbow trout of 19lb. The largest blue trout was 4.12lb and the largest brown around 3lb.
The long winter and spring produced some great sport especially as the water started to warm and insect life started to appear. By march it was clear that a large number of trout had over wintered well and that anglers were in for a treat as the condition of these fish was superb.
Buzzer fishing dominated the summer months with some excellent catches reported and some very large fish caught. Peter Green smashed the fishery record landing 52 fish including two doubles. The hot weather and water temperatures didn’t effect the fishery too much and anglers continued to catch well.
Autumn saw fish feeding up for the winter months and fished well but fishing slowed towards November as the colder weather set in.
At the time of writing the loch remains productive although anglers are having to work harder to tempt fish.
