Yup, to produce a better finish BUT I can't be bottomed! as you can tell by the smeared varnish on the bottom two on the left :z6

Peter, the body is stripped peacock herl and I'm quite impressed as they have turned out ok and (no joke) I've been tying them in poor light so it's been a lottery if the 'segmentation' turns out sastisfactorallaly! :z4

Anyone got any interesting patterns on the go?

Iain
Funnilly enough almost identical to your buzzers

They look like they were stolen out of my box  :z4
Good effort anyway, what sizes of hooks did you go for?

Ell chunky green monster is yet to be given a test swim

But this blue collared buzzer is taking alot of fish the now  :wink

Nice Collared buzzer - could do with a couple more coats of SH though!  :z7 :z7 :z7

Hooks I'm currently using are Kamasan B175's in 10's & 12's. My usual B100 & 110's in 12, 14 & 16's are fine for tying the smaller buzzers but I think straight hooks have to be larger for the same size imitation. if that makes sense.

Peter,
   and the pictures are..? where?

An irish cormorant with stripped herl body

A stripped herl bodied buzzer - like yours Iain

And a Davy McPhail Blue buzzer - I think the light got to the biots coz they're actually blue not white with a blue edge.

And I missed a bit of the end of the body with the varnish :shock  :oops Good thing it's only for trout :grin

Peter,
Is it Artifly Electric Blue biots? If so it could be a dying issue as I've the same problem with mine.

Nice flies though - like the Irish Cormorant.............back to the bench :z10

From the vice today; a couple of Superpuppa. I’ll used to tie them in two colours yellow/black and green/brown.
Originator is the Swedish flytier Lennart Bergqvist.
The Superpuppa will imitate a swimming pupae. The best of all, it’s simple too tie and it catch a lot of fish.
Here is a description how too tie.

Gerry from Artifly should be able to sort you out at a good price, i just got a chatreuse dyed jungle cock  and also half an orkney peach dyed jungle cock!
They were suppose to be budget capes at £20 each but they are perfect as far as iam concerned!
Great for cormornt cheeks and cheeks on spiders/wets  :z16

Looks fishy to me Iain, I got my JC from Neil Anderson in Forfar, definetly worth a look if you're down that way. In fact mine is probably too good as theres not that many split feathers on the cape. Cost me £40 after christmas.

The wing on mine is bronze mallard which can be tricky to find in goos quality, hopefully mr cookshill will be at the game fair or even someone at the royal show though I'm told its not really got much in the fishing line.
