Lochter Report - April Promise at Lochter
« on: 05/04/2022 at 13:22 »
Down Lochter way they say that April is the month that puts the ‘spirit of youth’ into everyone. Whether this is true or not can be debated but certainly some of our more ‘mature’ customers did seem to be heading for the water with a bit more ‘bounce’ in their step.

Things didn’t disappoint on the fishing front with many fish caught as well as lost. Many reported our fish in good fighting fettle with broken hooks and lost flies the results.

Albert Cowie from Fraserburgh kept the faith all day with his team of buzzers as the fish were seen gorging on them and he had 30 fish to the net for his efforts.

Albert Trail mixed it up between buzzers and fabs to good effect as it got his 25 fish for his session.

Stuart Howie used small nymphs and buzzers for his 21 fish, Jim Gilmour had 21 fish using firstly buzzers and then in the afternoon a ‘rise’ came as he changed to klinkhammers.

Chavdar Chavdarov concentrated on yellow lures particularly the yellow dancer for his 20 fish, Kenny Weir used a black WSW lure and humungous for his 18 fish and Mike Skene had 15 on a mixture of small lures.

Other returns were Brian Ross on 14 with dry flies, Davy Wood on 11 with WSW lures, Davy Johnston with 10 on buzzers and cormorants, Derek Cooper with 8 on diawl bachs and Jim Riddell with 7 on lures.

So very encouraging for the Easter holidays ahead.

A reminder that we are open from 8.30am-5pm at present.

Tight lines,

S.P 5/4/22.
