Down Lochter way last week, we certainly had a major increase in eager anglers ready to do battle with some of our more growthy home grown trout and the majority of anglers found that some form of lure proved to be the most effective.
Once again last week the fish were feeding consistently well throughout the day which resulted in good returns and the nirvana of reasonably contented anglers.
So some good news, which in the present climate should not to be taken for granted.
Those in the 20 plus category were Albert Cowie on a white WSW, Neale Clark on a black lure,Graeme Duthie on a black lure,Neil Watt on crunchers, diawl bachs and fab,N Clubb on black and white lures,Declan McFarlane on a mixture of lures,Scott Thorburn on damsels,Bill Gray on nomads, damsels and fabs,Ernie Mackay on fabs and nymphs,J Rhind on fabs and buzzers,Emma Johnston on lures,Mike Skene on small lures and Stuart Howie on lures and nymphs.
Looking through the returns book , Bob Rankin did well with 18 fish on an olive fritz, Albert Trail had 17 fish on mops,Neil Garden used a cruncher and cormorant combination for 16 fish,Denny Mackay used buzzers and cormorants for 16 fish,Thomas Wishart used cormorants for his 16 fish ,Simon Ruddiman used a mixture of lures for his 15 fish and Fred McCalley had 14 fish on a bibio and fab combination.
