Lochter Report - Weather or Not to Fish
« on: 11/01/2022 at 15:58 »
Down Lochter way last week it was very much the case that the anglers were keeping a close eye on the weather forecast and if Carol (voted the fisherman’s favourite weather presenter) said there was a smidgen of a chance of fine weather then a legion of eager anglers could be predicted to arrive having momentarily cast aside the shackles of domestic drudgery.

Storm, frost nor tempest stood in the way of them grasping a rich bounty of fishing pleasure which was clearly within their hold. As with life some grabbed this opportunity with both hands, some met it with a firm handshake while a few forlornly reached out in the limp hope of a success which evaded them.

However, back to reality, the fishing was very much ‘steady as you go’ for this time of year with some making double figures but 4-8 fish was the average.

Paul Ingram kept faith with his cormorant and buzzer set up which found him land 14 fish.

Ernie Mackay used diawl bachs and assorted small nymphs for his 12 fish and also on this number were Alan Smith on cat’s whiskers, Barry Morgan on lures and nymphs and Graham Duthie on cormorants and buzzers.

It was nice to welcome 3 first time fishers to Lochter last week.
Josh Campbell netted 8 fish on lures which included the yellow dancer and black WSW, Colin McFarlane had 6 fish on okay dokays and sparklers and also on 6 was Kevin Stewart using a silver humongous. So well done to them as it’s not always easy the first time you try a new Fishery.

So, for anyone else thinking of giving us a try for the first time simply pop AB51 0DZ into your Sat Nav and we’ll see you soon.

Tight lines,

S.P 11/1/22.
