Down Lochter way the continuing mild weather meant it was still very much the case that at times the fish could be found feeding at all depths of the water, so if a particular method was successful then there was no reason not to stick with it. There were even times when a dry fly would connect you to a top feeding fish which is normally unheard of at this time of year when thoughts of ice forming on the surface are more to the fore.
Albert Trail found his 20 fish at varying depths on mops and lures, Paul Ingram, on a full day session, landed 19 fish on a hovver line with apps bloodworm, cormorants and diawl bachs. Also on 19 was Robert Prentice who used a mixture of flies including lures and buzzers, Nathan Cowie fished a yellow fritz to get his 18 fish and Jim Gilmour got his 16 fish on buzzers, bibios and bunny leeches.
Bob McWilliam fished a selection of damsels for his 15 fish and also on this number was Graeme Duthie on apps bloodworm and cormorants.
Other returns were Kenny Stuart with 14 on beaded diawl bachs and buzzers, Robert Cowie with 12 on mini lures, Davy Wood with 11 on his favourite WSW lure and Callum Scott with 10 on mops and blue flash damsels.
With the mild weather set to continue into the week ahead then there is not better time to mosey down Lochter way and cast a fly. You wont be disappointed!
