Down Lochter way last week the sunny weather was most appreciated by the assorted throng of anglers who descended on the Fishery to enjoy some relaxed fishing in the lovely backdrop of Lochter and they were certainly not disappointed as there was some fine sport to be had.
Albert Cowie from Fraserburgh had two outings where he had 18 & 12 fish mostly on a selection of buzzers fished slightly deeper.
Jim Whyte continued to do well with 16 fish on either white lures or small black buzzers.
Albert Trail used diawl bachs and small nymphs to bring 15 fish to the net and his fishing buddy Bill Wood did well with 12 fish also on nymphs.
Paul Ingram picked the right evening for his session where he had 11 fish on CDC shuttlecocks and white moths and also on the top of the water was Bob Devlin who got 10 fish on small black ants and a black klinkhammer.
Johnny Thackery had 14 fish for his 8-hour session on a mixture of lures and buzzers and Dean McKinnon had a lucky 13 on small black lures and nymphs.
It should be mentioned that the evening sessions have been particularly fun and eventful with some great dry fly action taking place.
So all in all more welcome summer weather and good fishing to be had:- what’s not to like about that.
Tight lines,
