Hi,
So my rod kit arrived and i've been beavering away.....rod is fully wrapped and ready for the Epoxy.....
I opted for black silk for all the wraps on the black / grey blank and have very slim white trim bands, pictures to follow.
The epoxy in the kit is Prokote and the instructions suggest to thin the first coat to achieve translucent wraps, however is their any downside to not thinning?, i do not have a rod dryer and can only envisage a thinned coat dripping off the blank and me having to stand turning it for 4 days....?
Any harm in applying Prokote in the 50/50 mix and turning by hand for approx. 2 hours, also stated in the Epic instructions for the final coat.
Any help would be much appreciated for my first time build,
Steven
