My pal has asked me to repair an old Daiwa 732. I advised him that it was not worth the bother - then I took a careful look at it.
It is a lovely piece of old school engineering and prompted my 'ex toolmaker' instinct to take hold. I could get a full reel from ebay for £25 but that is not the point. It requires a new spring and 2 backing plate screws. I can make the screws on the Myford but the spring is the problem. I could make a spring but it would be too weak. I cannot locate a source of spares and was hoping that someone could help?
