James, "recipe" as in materials and tying method??

Just classic, 

Hook: Kamasan B175 #8 or 10
Tail; Pheasant tail cock natural
Rib; Copper wire (or coloured matching the pattern)
Body; Hares Dub (various colours, matching the pattern)
Body hackle; India Cock
1st front hackle; Hen (soft hackle)
2nd front hackle; Franch Partridge
(Optional Grey mallard fank, Cloaked style))
Thread; Uni 8/0 black (mainly)

rather then buy yet more materials i thought i would try with some of the coloured teal flank feather i have. This one is the chartreuse version from last night. Lots more exciting colours to try too . I should say there are not many materials. Pheasant tail, chartreuse wire, mirage tinsel, chartreuse badger hackle and teal

Teal as well as Mallard flank feathers are working (and looking) fine on wet Mayfly patterns.

"The Gosling"  is such a pattern with Mallard flank as topping feather!

Nice, I like the Gosling as I used to tie them for my Dad who swore by them for pretty much everything that swims.
I've not dressed the body with a palmered hackle though, it looks interesting and subtly different

i was fishing with flies like this last year and I was slaughtering the fish. I think it was called a professor or a bumble I think. Anyway I'm sure it will do the business 😉
