At last! The second half of the past week has produced conditions that were acceptable to anglers and simultaneously encouraged the fish into activity with quite a bit of surface movement as well as aggressive feeding at all depths. The temperatures have risen quite dramatically and the persistent winds have disappeared altogether. This week has, not surprisingly in view of the conditions, produced some good catches, the best amongst which were;
A Murray, Gardenstown, 30 fish, (olive fritz), C Watson, New Deer, 26 fish, (bloodworm, nomad, nymphs), K Fraser, Greeness, 16 fish, (various lures), B Gibb, King Edward, 13 fish, (cat flick), N Thomson, Turriff, 12 fish, (buzzers), P Crawford, Fraserburgh, 11 fish, (black/green bunny leech), K Maddocks, Aberdeen, 8 fish, (pink bunny leech), C Field, Fraserburgh, 7 fish, (various lures), A Crawford, Fraserburgh, 6 fish, (black/green bunny leech), A Sith, Ellon, 6 fish, (buzzers), P Barron, Oldmeldrum, 6 fish, (buzzers), D Apedale, Fraserburgh, 6 fish, (montana).
The forecast for the coming week suggests a continuation of the same conditions with temperatures remaining quite high.
