Now into October and have glimpsed the first sign of summer in that the past week has been settled, without rainfall, and with temperatures rising quite significantly during the day although following chilly nights. Fishing has remained erratic with the fish presenting deep in early morning but rising in the water column as light and temperatures improved. The opposite returned from late afternoon with the fish returning to the deeper lies.
The outstanding angler this week was Peter Cowie from Fraserburgh who returned 43 fish using a Red Cruncher and a Kate McLaren fished from a floating line.
The best recorded catches this week were; P Cowie, Fraserburgh, 43 fish, (red cruncher, kate mclaren), A Cowie, Fraserburgh, 19 fish, (orange blob, green/white fritz), A Murray, Gardenstown, 14 fish, (olive fritz, green/white fritz), G Ellington, Ellon, 8 fish, (green buzzer), N Thomson, Turriff, 8 fish, (orange and green blob), J McKay, Macduff, 6 fish, (black nomad).
