Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

The Aul Troot

The past week has seen more favourable weather conditions with anglers enjoying good sport albeit they have had to work out the feeding depth and the most desirable lures.  In general the fish have been feeding deeper and although catches were recorded to nymphs, diawl bach, crunchers and buzzers the greater activity was recorded to lures. The best recorded catches for the week fell to; A Cowie, Fraserburgh, 24 fish, (fritz, blob), C Stephen, Fraserburgh, 12 fish, (white/pink blob), C Field, Fraserburgh, 11 fish,, (pink blob), J Dewar, Fraserburgh, 11 fish, (bloodworm, cruncher), P Cowie, Fraserburgh, 10 fish, (blob, cruncher), A McPherson, Llanhbryde, 9 fish, (black buzzers), M McPherson, Llhanbryde, 9 fish, (diawl bach), J Laing, Aberdeen, 8 fish, (orange blob).
The coming week suggests the weather to remain reasonably settled and hopefully yield good catches.
