Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

The Aul Troot

The past week has seen anglers enjoy settled weather conditions with good average temperatures and light breezes. . The sky remained overcast for lengthy periods and the only minus is stall a lack of fresh water as any rainfall has been absorbed into the ground and not following through to the watercourse.
Whilst the fish were rather reluctant to rise to a dry fly they responded well to wet flies, nymphs, buzzers and various lures with anglers recording catches at all levels.
The best recorded catches this week fell to; A Murray, Gardenstown, (several visits), 38 fish, (cat's whisker, yellow fritz), J West, Fraserburgh, 19 fish, (neon damsel), A Burnett, Gardenstown, 16 fish, (olive alex), J Mackay, Macduff, 12 fish, (yellow fritz, blob), W Senior, Aberdeen, 10 fish, (WSW), K Armstrong, Fraserburgh, 10 fish, (buzzers), A Gibson, Gardenstown, 9 fish, (various lures), K Hall, Aberdeen, 9 fish, (olive alex), D Wood, Aberdeen, 8 fish, (mini WSW), G Murison, Fraserburgh, 8 fish, (viva), P Watt, Turriff, 8 fish, (buzzers).
The weather for the coming week remains mixed but favourable for anglers and hopefully some rainfall.
