With the CLA Game Fair not that far off I've been doing some scouting around to see what sort of distances James Chalmers team at
http://www.gaelforceflyfishing.com/ have managed. Without doing them a huge injustice (as this is a
very sweeping statement) Gaelforce grew from the ashes of the Carron competition team.
I digress.
The results of the Spey-O-Rama held in San Francisco at the Golden Gate Angling & Casting Club
http://www.ggacc.org/ are in:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/36321426/sor2014/index.htmlSome interesting scores in there. Remember our colonial chums still work in feet for this stuff, but there are some big distances in there - particularly in qualifying, Travis hitting just on 60 metres. Impressive
Some 'big' names appear to have had a tough time in the final, particularly Gerard Downey
Mr Consistency (James Chalmers), who was within a foot of his totals from qualifying in the final, got a second place overall which must have made him very happy indeed
