Yet another week of high temperatures and glorious sunshine. Who is complaining - apart from anglers? The higher water temperature has driven the fish deeper into the middle of the water and during the day have only been tempted by lures and weighted tackle. At evening time when the strength of the sun diminishes the fish have risen in the water column and have tackled buzzers and nymphs fished slowly in the top 3-4ft. Unfortunately the temptations of the 'dry fly' have not met with the greatest success although the occasional catch has been recorded on small dries and daddy long legs. The algae bloom has disappeared over the past few days and relatively clear water has returned leaving us only hoping for a days rainfall to get a flush of fresh water and encourage more active feeding. The best recorded catches this week fell to;

Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is a Troutmaster water and is currently open 7 days from 8:00am til 10:00pm with a latest start time of 7:30pm. Visitors and learners are welcome and booking is not necessary.
