Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

The Aul Troot

Here we are again - fighting ice, but winning. Have remained open for past two weeks and hoping for a rise of a degree or two in the temperature. Despite the water temperature and inclement conditions, several anglers landed good catches including;

J Abel             Fraserburgh       18 fish
R Ewen           Macduff             14 fish
J Daniels         Ythanbank          14 fish including a nice 7lb fish
L Smith           Whitehills           11 fish
E West            Fraserburgh         8 fish
R Davidson      Macduff               7 fish
M Ewen Snr     Turriff                 6 fish

N Thomson from Turriff successfully landed a tagged fish and collected his £100 reward. Well done Norman!

The best end tackle has again been various lures including Bunny Leech and Black Cormorant although good catches have fallen to the Ace of Spades and a Montana nymph. It has been rewarding to record a good quantity of fish taken on Buzzers (Silver/Black) and Bloodworm.

Our Troutmaster 2011 competition is now open.

All tackle including boats, rods etc available for hire and beginners are welcome. Bookings not necesssary.
