I've only been there once, when tried it for salmon one day right at the end of last October.  I was convinced at that time of year I was in with a good shout - sadly I was wrong again so I'll blame it on the weather which was cold and windy   :z4

The water level was showing at 1’7” on the Alford gauge.  I took these photos which only cover some of the water working downstream from below Ardhuncart Lodge.

Hardy’s Pool (I think) at this height there was a good flow, but the picture doesn’t show it very well.

Brig Pool (from upstream looking down towards the bridge).

Brig Pool (looking downstream from on top of the bridge).

Inver Mossat looking down towards the Auld Brig Pot – the Mossat Burn enters on the far bank just outside the photo on the far left.  The Alford to Strathdon road overlooks this pool.
