Artloch experienced mixed weather conditions last week with cold winds that were often gusting.   When combined with very cold water the fish were moving slowly and feeding erratically.    However, when the wind did drop, fish have continued to rise to a dry fly!

Those hardy souls who did cast a fly were generally successful with intermediate lines and lures.   Productive flies included a White Fritz, Dark Buzzers, Bloodworm, a Walker's Special Palmered Olive, Olive WSW and various Orange lures.

Some examples of catch returns included A Bain with 5, while P Adam and J Walker were matched on 7, best at 5 lbs.   J Eva improved with 8, again best at 5lbs, while top rod was S Wright with 9, best at 4lbs.    Sandy from Aberlour released a cracking bow circa 12 lbs using a White Fritz and had to come into the hut to recover!
