What a surprise :

have been browsing the net and found lots of cool info and piccies about north country spiders.
Guess what?

Remember my partridge and peacock spider, turns out, unsurprisingly, that it was done in 1823 and called a Prismire ant.
A bit before my time.
But then i wonder under how many different names this pattern could appear as.

Bet you didn't find an old pattern for the Half Nelson. They didn't have pearl tinsel in 1823.

I've had a good rake and Sylvester Nemes created the same fly too in the late 60's/early 70's across in montana.He called his Syl's Midge.

The weird thing is we all seem to have plumped for lightolive/yellowish thread.
