I've been offered some sea trout fishing on a west coast (Argyll) spate river once the rains come.

Grateful for any advice on fly patterns for peaty rivers.

Presumably something bright like a Junction Shrimp, or hi-vis like a Cascade would work?

Andrew,

In peaty water I would start with a copper body cascade variant and if I went down in size my first choice would be a gold body stoats tail with an orange throat hackle.
