Down Lochter way February continued not yet to show its true Winter teeth.
As one wit said, “if you’re going to have a miserable month – make it February – it’s the shortest.” Others say that “in February there is everything to hope for and nothing to regret.”
Now, regret was not much in evidence, as there seemed to be a consistent 4-6 fish tally for our loyal customers to brighten up these desolate, damp, dreary days of mid-Winter.
Mike Skene continued to do well with 18 fish brought to the net using a mixture of lures.
Neil Clubb used the cat bug, cormorants and apps bloodworm to get his 15 fish and Ernie Mackay had the same number but used buzzers and small nymphs.
Graham Gauld used cormorants and apps bloodworm for 13 fish, Stuart Howie relied on mini lures and buzzers for his 11 fish and Jason Devlin had 10 fish on a mini cats whiskers and a silver mini humungous.
Other returns were Fred McCally with 8 fish on nymphs, Gordon Fergus with 8 on cormorants and shimmer worms, Johnny Thackery with 7 on apps bloodworm and diawl bachs, Darren Bissitt with 6 on cat bugs and Craig Whyte with 6 on lures and cormorants.
February is also known for the month of love – I suppose another reason why it’s the shortest!
Tight lines,
S.P 8/2/22.
