Weather on the internet?
« on: 04/02/2008 at 21:26 »
Hi folks

Which is your favourite website link for good quality local weather forecasts? A site that is good for 3 day or even better 5 day forecasts :?

Cheers

I find

http://www.xcweather.co.uk/

probably the most accurate for North East Scotland, but like all the other forecasts I always take it with a pinch of salt.  Depending where I'm going I also usually look at the 5 day forecasts on the BBC at  http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml   and the Met Office at http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/gr/gr_forecast_weather.html  and see if they agree about anything.  :z8  During infrequent jaunts into the hills I also check  http://www.mwis.org.uk/

But you cant pinpoint your location that closely with those, while the one i posted you can almost go to your doorstep.

Cool .......... so if I had a "Haddo Weather Link" set up on the site to here http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=uk7dayx6;page=1;type=free;ct=19680~Methlick;sess=#forecast Would it always open with the latest forecast?

Don't see why not? :roll

Cheers
Mike

PS: I love all the links on the right to "Will it be windy? Will it be frosty? Etc Etc

Great stuff :z16

I've added a local weather link at the bottom of the forum page and fingers crossed, it should hopefully work :wink

I've set it up based on Methlick ( Cool :z7 ) but you can simply change the search box to Mintlaw for Pitfour, Turriff for Delgatie etc etc

Hope it proves useful

Oh well :z6 ......... looks like we get a wee bit of sun on Wednesday  followed by ( you guessed it ) more rain on Thursday and more rain on Friday  :z4

Hmmm ..... I've just remembered why I don't usually watch the forecast on the tv :z7

The link is not working for me. I just get a flicker then returned to your page.

Best link I have for my local weather is
http://www.yr.no/   :z4

Don't know if it covers outside of Norway but it is the most accurate forecast I have come across
