Inverurie Fishings
« on: 04/01/2018 at 15:06 »
Hi folks,

I’m new to the forum and hoping someone could help me out with some information.

The past few years I’ve held a Roving Permit for the Don through Aberdeenshire Council, but i believe the fishings for Inverurie are now held by the Inverurie Angling Association. Is this correct?  If so, I’m looking for information on the club, how to join etc. Can anyone help? Can’t seem to find much online.

Cheers

Mark

Hi Mark,
I believe that the Council are still in discussions with Inverurie Angling Association about taking over the running of the Inverurie Burgh fishings but due to discussions still ongoing this will not take place until the 2019 season if all goes well.
So for this year 2018 you can still get your Fishing ticket from the Aberdeenshire Council website https://www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/communities-and-events/fishing/seasons-and-permits/

Hi Rob / Brian,

Thanks for the responses. Good to know the roving ticket is still an option for the coming season then. Would still like to find out more about the IAA if anyone has information.

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark

Not sure if the roving ticket will be available this season.
The last I heard was that Kintore angling club were close to taking over the Council fishings at Kintore which would leave only Inverurie and Alford.
Perhaps someone can update the situation at Kintore?

Duncan

Thanks

Will be interesting to see if they'll just knock 33% off the ticket price in those circumstances. Thanks Duncan.

A few salmon being reported off the beats in and around Inverurie in recent weeks -
The Burgh Fishings are up to near the 20 mark for the season which is excellent and probably the best beat on the Don so far this year
Ardmurdo/Keithhall Fishings have been quite slow although there have been a couple in recent weeks - the road closure on Keithhall road for upgrade works at the Water Treatment Plant did nothing to help.
Manar have also had a couple of fish and a number lost which is disappointing.
Water levels dropping back to a good height for all so hopefully there will be more salmon in the coming weeks ........ and of course it's getting a bit warmer and I'm sure that the recent photos/reports of good catches will continue.
