Anyone got any experience of these rods and if so, thoughts on them?

I see there's a substantial reduction on them at a few retailers at the moment, but not that many reviews.  Basically £400 down to a smidge over £200 depending where you buy.

I get the impression they haven't been too popular.  Maybe because they are from Hardy 

Anyway, I'm tempted by the new prices.  Thinking about a 9' #4 as a second rod alongside my Recon. 

There are some offers on the Orvis Helios 2 just now as well, albeit theyre a league or two price wise above the Jet.

I've cast a couple of the Sintrix Jet rods, they're a bit like a dumbed down Zenith. In my hands it felt heavier than the Zenith (and others in the same price point) and somehow felt a little lethargic but I thought it was a fine short range rod. Not a bad rod at all, but not my cup of tea - the Zenith.... ahh well, now I do like that hugely.

The Helios 2 will shortly be discontinued as the new Helios 3  starts to come 'online', I anticipate there will be a slow release of H3 models much as there was with the original Helios and the H2. There may be further reductions on the H2 as the H3 becomes available, but they've sold well and may not be reduced much further in the UK desirable sizes.

I had noticed there was a few models of the H3 available.

Not cheap at all.  In fact the pricing on most of the new Orvis kit is a bit OTT.

Probably do do with ththe exchange rate, or so they will claim.

So today I pulled the trigger on a deal at Angling Active, Stirling.

I was humming and heying over the Jet and I saw they were offering a kit including a 9' 4# Hardy Jet, a Hardy Ultralite FW DD 3000 reel plus a Hardy Premium floater, all for £355.

Giving the going rates £219 for the rod, the reel £180 and £30 for the line, the additional saving of almost £70 was not to be sniffed at.

Looks like you can still get the offer which is actually slightly cheaper, on the 8'6 4# if anyone fancies it.

Shouldn't be too bad a setup for the money and I have a couple of smaller rods which the reel will be ideal for.
