I understand about the trimming to ensure that flies sit right in the water Allan ..... but I always think they look better to us prior to trimming :z4

To be honest when I first started using this pattern (Ivor's Olive) it had a fully tied, untrimmed underside (no jokes please Matron  :z4) and caught a lot of fish.  Still catches plenty and I personally prefer the 'low riding' version but in fairness, if pulling it or short lining on a loch then, yeah I'd say the fully dressed one might be better.

You'll just have to tie and try both  :wink
