At the time of writing this report (Sunday 8:00am) the thermometer is showing a reading of 9.5 degrees and the water is a mirror image with not even a breeze showing. What a dramatic difference from the past week where we have endured gales, low temperatures and persistent showers of rain, sleet and snow. Needless to say the weather deterred anglers who forsook the pleasures of fishing for the comfort of the armchair.
Despite these conditions a few brave souls ventured out and we recorded a week where every angler was rewarded with a fish catch and no one returned a "blank".
The best catches fell to: A Gibson, Gardenstown, 14 fish, (WSW), N Thomson, Turriff, 5 fish, (buzzers), A Watt, Macduff, 5 fish, (fritz).
The forecast for the coming week looks much more favourable with mild temperatures predicted and gales becoming a past memory. Next weeks report should hopefully be more comprehensive.
