The past week has been a bit mixed weather wise but not extreme enough to prevent fishing on each day and the resulting catches were ample encouragment to the anglers. The fish were caught at various depths although the use of lures and intermediate or sinking lines were predominant although buzzers and nymphs still features strongly.
An erratic or quick retrieve appeared to be the order of the day although the floating line retrieved more slowly still yielded good catches.
The top catch for the week fell to P Keir from Fyvie who, on two visits, managed to land 41 fish using a black fritz and yellow dancer.

A Murray, Gardenstown, 20 fish, (White Fritz), J Freeland, Aberdeen, 15 fish, (Cat's Whiskers/Hoppers), M Whyte, Aberdeen, 12 fish, (Buzzers), P Scott, Macduff, 12 fish, (Buzzers/Bunny Leech), J Abel, Fraserburgh, 11 fish, (Pink Blob), D Stuart, Aberdeen, 10 fish, (Buzzers), K Fraser, Greeness, 10 fish, (Cat;s Whisker), A Gibson, Gardenstown, 9 fish, (WSW), A Scott, Aberdeen, 9 fish, (Bunny Leech).
The bigger fish continued to make their presence known with A Murray landing two at 11lb and 10lb, J Dawkins, Westhill, 8lb, D Stewart, 7lb, W Wardrobe, Aberdeen, 6lb along with J Abel and B Logan, Old Rayne.
Delgatie Castle is a Troutmaster water and is open 7 days from 8:00am til 6:00pm and visitors and novices are welcome. Booking is not necessary and boats (if required), rods and tackle is available for hire at the fishery.
