The past week has been mixed weatherwise with Friday giving us our first glimpse of the "white stuff". Fortunately it did not lie but a timely reminder that this time last year we were unable to fish due to road conditions and ice. The fishing has also been a bit mixed with some anglers managing to determine the correct end tackle and fish rising depths whilst other anglers found conditions more difficult. There was much less "top" activity and fish were connecting at 4-6ft down whilst occasionally rising according to light and temperature.
The best catches fell to;
Norman Thompson, Turriff, 14 fish, (Buzzers), Peter Green, Huntly, 13 fish, (Okay Dokey), Neil Thomson, Macduff, 9 fish, (White Nomad), Karen Gillies, Huntly, 6 fish, (Okay Dokey), Sandy Davidson, Peterhead, 5 fish, (Blob), J Alexander, Macduff, 5 fish, (Buzzers)
James Mackay, Macduff and Karen Gillies, Huntly, both landed fish in the 5-6lb range and Neil Thomson, Macduff secured a tagged fish.
Delgatie Castle is a Troutmaster water where beginners and visitors are welcome and boats, rods and tackle is available for hire.
The fishery is open 7 days from 8:00am til dusk. For further information phone Bob on 07980 999 006.
