Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

The Aul Troot

What a balmy end to September. The weather has been settled and the fish have returned to surface or high level activity. The approaching end of Summer season has resulted in abundant natural food with the harvest complete and the trees shedding leaves, insect life is in abundance and the fish are sometimes reluctant to accept artificial foods unless presented in an acceptable manner. This has however not prevented some first class catches with the leading anglers being;

P Cowie, Fraserburgh, 46 fish, (Diawn Bach),  D Mackay, Inverness, 15 fish, (Buzzer/Bloodworm), J Walker, Banff, 12 fish, (Daddy), K Wright, Newburgh, 12 fish, (Bloodworm), I Watt, Turriff, 11 fish, (CDC/Buzzer), A Murray, Gardenstown, 11 fish, (Lures), S MacLean, Fraserburgh, 7 fish, (Lures)

The evening sessions are now drawing to a close but we will hold on to the 7:00 pm deadline for as long as light permits or until the "clock changes" in three weeks time.

Delgatie Castle is a Troutmaster water where beginners, visitors and juniors are welcome and all tackle including boats (where required), rods etc are available for hire. The fishery is open from 8:00am 7 days and bookings are not necessary. For further informmation phone Bob on 07980 999 006. :z15
