Been trying to get a photo of the kingfishers today ..... NOT EASY!

I can't get close enough to them, those wildlife photographers must have some patience

Customers are seeing them from the boats, maybe that's the answer

Nope..they have £3k of telephoto lense so they don't need to get close!

By the way, I have a spare tripod if you would like to try one out before buying..could drop it off for you.

You could try setting up the camera on a tripod focussed on where you expect the bird to be and then  withdraw to a distance, wait for the bird to appear and then trigger the shutter remotely with a gadget like this :http://www.gentles.ltd.uk/gentled/index.htm

Otherwise, buy a very very expensive lens.

Try taking the pic again another day when you've not forgotten your mobile phone, it may end up focused better
