Fishing The Fly Scotland Forum

The Aul Troot

Please note - this report is for the week ending 3rd October and we have bid goodbye to the month of September which has been difficult to say the least, having been plaqued by high, blustery winds from the North and North East and seemingly endless heavy downpours leading to flooding and coloured water. The exasperation makes one understand the plight of the farmers. Let's forget our woes now and look forward to a settled October with fish "feeding up" for Winter and maybe our last chance to use surface tackle. This last week has rewarded the hardy souls who ventured forth and some of the better catches were:

H Mackenzie            Kingswells         17 fish
J Abel                     Fraserburgh       15 fish
P Conlon                 Stuartfield          11 fish
R Donald                 Macduff             10 fish
R Davidson              Macduff             7 fish

As well as the above, several anglers landed bigger fish including:

P Clark                   Wales                8.8lbs
D Murdoch              Portlethen          7.7lbs
J Abel                    Fraserburgh        6.8lbs

It was impossible to compute a better lure chart as each angler appeared to have been successful on different tackle but we did establish that black and olive were the predominant colours.

Delgatie Castle is now a Troutmaster water and boats, rods and other tackle are available for hire at all times. Beiginners and juniors are welcome.

For all enquiries phone Bob on 07980 999 006 or visit the fishery which is open 7 days from 8 am till dusk.  :z15
